Introducing the G63 AMG Eventuri Intake. Fitment for the 2025+ W465 with engine code M177.

The G63 AMG W465 Eventuri Intake is crafted from prepreg carbon fiber, featuring CNC machined components and custom-designed high-flow filters. This intake is a complete redesign of the OEM airboxes and flow path. By utilizing the additional space under the hood, we have significantly increased the intake volume, achieving an impressive 25% greater airflow rate compared to the OEM airboxes, all while retaining the original cold air feeds.
The larger volume of the intake also facilitates a smoother airflow path, allowing the turbos to draw air with reduced resistance. This results in a decreased wastegate duty cycle and ultimately enhances overall performance.

To accommodate the increased size of the intake, we have also redesigned the engine cover which features a red kevlar section and a herringbone carbon weave.

The Eventuri G63 AMG intake system delivers industry-leading performance gains while providing both audible and visual enhancements for an enriched driving and ownership experience.

The Eventuri G63 AMG intake system consists of a number of components engineered to perform a specific purpose and fabricated to the highest of standards. We use 100% pre-preg carbon fiber with no fibreglass which means we can achieve a smooth internal surface to maintain smoother airflow. Here are the details for each component and the design ethos behind them:

Each intake system consists of:

  • Carbon Fiber Airbox Bases
  • Carbon Fiber Airbox Lids
  • Bespoke High Flow Dry Filters
  • Carbon Fiber Engine Cover
  • CNC Machined Sensor Mounts
  • Custom EPDM Flexible Duct Connectors
  • Laser Cut Stainless Steel Brackets

AIRBOX ASSEMBLIES

The airbox assemblies feature a two-part design, with upper and lower sections separated by filter panels. Each section is carefully crafted to maximize internal volume while ensuring an unobstructed path for airflow to reach the turbos. The primary challenge in this design was enhancing the airboxes’ internal volume to improve flow rate capacity beyond the stock airboxes. Given the compact nature of the G63 engine bay, this was achieved by optimizing the internal height of the airboxes. The most significant improvement came from enlarging the upper airbox lids, resulting in a substantial volume increase and a smoother, more efficient airflow path.

AIRBOX COMPARISONS

Comparing the Eventuri intake directly with the OEM airboxes clearly shows the difference in volume and the improvement in the flow path. The cold air feed of the OEM system connects to the airbox with a long flexible duct which is restricted in size. This also leaves little room for the airbox base to shape the incoming flow onto the filter. We have incorporated most of the cold air feed length into the base of our airbox allowing for a much larger internal volume and and more organic path to allow the filter maximum exposure.

The lid of the OEM airbox is even further restricted due to the close proximity of the filter panel to the turbo inlet. Airflow has to negotiate a very tight transition from the rectangular filter to the circular turbo inlet positioned to one side of the airbox. This results in stagnant flow across significant areas of the filter resulting in further resistance.

We have lowered the position of our filter allowing more space to transition to the turbo inlet. This allows the filter to be more effectively used with minimised turbulence and a much reduced drag on the turbos.

ENGINE COVER

By utilising the space under the hood we have maximised the volume of our intake system but this also required the engine cover to be redesigned as the OEM cover sits close to the OEM intakes. The new cover is made from prepreg carbon fiber.

CUSTOM PANEL FILTERS

Maximising the size of our intake was only possible through designing custom filters. Our high flow panel filters use a multi-layer dry medium for effective filtration while providing a curved profile to eliminate non-organic corners in the airbox design, which would have resulted in turbulence.
