The MK3 Focus RS Eventuri intake has been developed through extensive dyno testing and temperature analysis. By integrating an effective cold air feed, which the stock system lacks and coupling that with our Patent Pending Venturi housing, our intake delivers industry leading results – consistently.
The Eventuri Difference
The RS Eventuri system uses our Patent Pending Carbon fibre Housing which provides an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the turbo tube. Not just another cone filter with a heat shield but a unique design which allows airflow to remain laminar and thus improve the turbo efficiency. Our intake system utilises a unique cold air feed from the undertray allowing the filter to be saturated with ambient air during motion regardless of how hot the engine bay becomes. This coupled with our unique Venturi housing for smooth flow results in a mid-range gain of 15hp and peak RPM gain of 10hp. The dyno graph below shows the comparison between the stock airbox and the Eventuri intake system on a standard car with standard map and exhaust.
The Eventuri Focus RS intake system consists of a number of components engineered to perform a specific purpose and fabricated to the highest of standards. Here are the details for each component and the design ethos behind them:

Carbon Intake Housing Assembly
The filter housing comprise of a high flow filter, aluminium cowl, laser cut bracket and the carbon housing itself. The carbon housing shrouds the reverse mounted filter and smoothly shapes the airflow down to the intake tube. This smooth reduction in cross sectional area invokes the Venturi effect where the airflow accelerates whilst maintaining laminar conditions. Carbon Fibre Intake Tube
We designed a connecting tube from the filter housing to the crossover pipe to be as smooth as possible. At one end it is matched in diameter to the filter housing and then tapers smoothly down to match the diameter of the crossover pipe. This ensures that airflow is not impeded and remains laminar to the turbo thus reducing the drag on the turbo.
Cold Air Feed
Our cold air feed solution is a unique feature on this system which demonstrates our comprehensive testing and analysis procedure. The standard air feeds to the stock airbox are very small and are further compromised by the small openings they use behind the front grill for ambient air entry. We believe this is one of the reasons Ford opened the airbox as if it were to breath solely through the two stock feeds, the intake would have been a huge restriction under load. Under testing with a 70mph fan directed into the front grill, we were unable to obtain any meaningful flow coming through the stock feeds. So we had to think outside the box and design an alternative cold air feed.
Our solution consists of an aluminium scoop and ducting to saturate the filter opening with cold air. The scoop secures to a conveniently located cutout on the undertray and the flexible ducting then mounts to the filter housing bracket. With the car in motion, ambient air is forced upwards through the ducting and displaces heated air from around the filter housing to ensure low intake temperatures. In fact with an engine fully warmed up, our intake system provides the turbo with lower intake air temperatures than the stock system. Since the air feed is not directly sealed to the filter, water ingress is not an issue. Any water will either flow back down the tube or disperse before entering the filter.
To conclude - the combination of using carbon fibre which is a good heat insulator, our Venturi housing and cold air feed result in a highly efficient intake system which gives consistent gains over the stock airbox and lifts the engine bay with a level of craftsmanship unseen in the aftermarket intake industry.
